Albums that Healed Me
Stone sour review of Stone Sour Album
I have lived a life of many rollercoasters and trauma and music was always the saving grace for me
I’m starting a new series introducing you to the music that helped me get through some serious trauma back in early 2000s!
Stone sour album
Released 2002
Corey Taylor lead vocals
Jim Root lead guitar
This album was my first taste of what Corey Taylor of slipknot could really do.
I remember having this one sent through from Roadrunner records when I was working as a journalist in the early 2000s. I was unsure. I did like slipknot but wasn’t a huge fan.
I was so glad to get this album. It showcased Corey’s vocals in a way more melodic and rock n roll format. There are still heavy songs like Get Inside. But the rock ballad bother stood out for different reasons to me at that time
I love a good rock ballad especially if the vocalist has that mystical wizardry of being able to tickle some dopamine out of my brain. Healing me along the way
Corey’s voice can do that. Which I discovered in this album
If you haven’t listened to it yet, my top three songs from the album are
Get inside
Bother
Monolith
